This is a question I've been asking myself for the last year. One with many answers.
Firstly, I think I should have chosen Shopify from the beginning - it's the shopping platform I really want to go with for ease of use, good templates etc. Squarespace is a very decent option, and slightly cheaper than Shopify, but there's things I didn't like about it, mostly around shipping.
Firstly, it doesn't automatically take sales tax for international orders where that applies, and Shopify does. I also struggled to set up some shipping profiles for the UK - I couldn't seem to set it up to offer free shipping like I do on Etsy but charge for certain things. The shipping was very easy to set up on Shopify, which was great.
It's taken weeks of work to get the website where I want it to be, and the last few days I've been intensely working on it, but it's now at a place where I'm happy.
