Hello, I'm Georgina

I started Georgina Doodles back in December 2020 and I can honestly say it's one of the best things I've ever done.

The story of Georgina Doodles starts over 40 years ago when I was 2.5. I drew a picture of an upright hoover which actually looked like an upright hoover. Mum instantly thought I was a protege, which I wasn't, but I did have a penchant and deep love for art, even then.

Over the years she encouraged and nurtured my love of art and I eventually went onto to study it at college. When it came to applying for a university, I wanted to study Illustration, but my lecturer at the time felt Graphic Design was a better fit. Fast forward three years and I've left university early with no degree and a lot of debt.

It turned out Graphic Design wasn't quite the right fit for me. I concentrated on paying my bills and spent the next 20 years working in insurance. I tried to keep creative outside of work, but it was only when we were in lockdown in 2020 that things really re-ignited.

I bought a lino printing kit and the rest is history. Two months later I had the opportunity to persue my dream of being a full time artist and leave my job. I took that opportunity with both hands and ran. Every step of my journey (since I bought the lino kit) has been documented on my Instagram. It's not been the easiest of journeys, but I wouldn't change a second of it. I feel like the luckiest person in the world that I get to create and make art every day. It's not something I think I'll ever take for granted.
