This is a watercolour painting of a grey heron. The reference photo was taken by me, at my local nature reserve, Forest Farm. He's emerging from an explosion of deep & bright blue, in this expressive painting. This is painted onto A4 watercolour paper, using professional quality watercolours by Schmincke, Daniel Smith and Michael Harding.
