This is a watercolour painting of a common kingfisher. The reference photo was taken by me, at my local nature reserve, Forest Farm. He's emerging from an explosion of bright blue, in this expressive painting. This is painted onto A4 watercolour paper, using professional quality watercolours by Schmincke, Daniel Smith and Michael Harding.
